Like Terrance, who lives all of three blocks from me, the new-fallen snow is changing the day's plans. The Swedenborgians are closed again today, so I'll be visiting one of my favorite neighborhood churches, First Baptist. Always a warm welcome, both from those who recognize me an those who don't. Described rather cleverly as "Jimmy Carter kind of Baptists" by their senior minister, I also group them with the kind of moderate Evangelicals that seem endangered by the current climate of polarization. But if any will keep the faith and keep it well, it will be First Baptist.

After which, off to Safeway. Soup on sale, and then retiring home.

  1. We got a dusting yesterday, but the real danger was the ice: three deaths reported on Saturday alone from people driving on bad roads.
