One of my favorite sites these days is CucumberSandwiches.org, a site by and for clergy husbands.
But the draw is that it is a creative community of relatively few men focused on making their spouses’ and families’ lives richer, in spite of administrative traditionalism and genteel penury.
How does this help us? They have clever, practical ideas to make church life easier to manage. See especially Future Parish Office Project. (One of my medium-term projects is finding the right combination of open-source software to integrate the print/Internet communication needs of a smallish church, eliminating the soul-destroying duplication of effort needed now.)
Most of the husbands’ ideas are still in the idea stage, but are worth a look. Consider, too, the vehicle of this common work: it is a QwikiWiki, with its quaint “camelhump syntax” (with CapitalLetters in the MiddleOfConcepts)
Inspiration all the way around.
