The political parson gets bit

Well, knowing a few Baptists, it doesn’t shock me in the slightest that the nine expelled members of the East Waynesville Baptist Church, Waynesville, N.C. came to church with their lawyers, according to the AP.

Rev.: Political Ousters a Misunderstanding

The minister in question says there was a misunderstanding; you bet there was. Chan Chandler on the young end (33) of the ministry; I would love to know where he went to school because of the fundamentalist takeover of the Southern Baptist seminaries. But other Bible colleges aren’t immune. In any case, he needs to get his money back on his Baptist polity course. Or should have stayed awake when they taught “don’t mess with the deacons in such a basic abusive way.” Seems two of the expelled members were in such a leadership position.

Some members have called for him to go. They’re right.

He needs to go now.

Later. I wondered about Chan Chandler’s schooling. Chuck Currie has blogged about it. Not Chandler’s CV, but what Currie writes is hardly encouraging.
