To stop blogging

We’ve hit Peak Blog, and it is all downhill now. Some good bloggers have stopped, and others are considering it. Some have questions what the next step is, and everywhere the pop-popularity of blogging means it is likely to turn vulgar, both in the sense of many people doing it badly and even fewer A-list people getting even more of share of demogogic pie.

I blog for two reason: a running tally of thoughts and resources, and as a running journal for later, more substantive writing. Well, that second kind of writing doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, and after two years plus of blogging it should have materialized into something by now.

So, I’ll keep the comments short — I’ll not be giving it up any time soon — and leave my more serious writing private until it matures into something.
