Heartland District's snazzy new site

I noted on the UUpdates aggregator that the Heartland District has a feed that it picks up. I went over to take a look at the site, and was happy to see it far improved over the last version.

Interestingly, it is “powered” with the Pivot CMS. I almost used Pivot for a couple of projects, but worried that its database-less-ness would cause it to crawl if the site got very big. My third or fourth choice — Plone — would have been far more difficult to set up, and the Mountain Desert District’s new Plone site has been in development for a while. Plus WordPress — my final choice — though known for blogging is robust enough and well supported. Each is free under an open-source license, so I’m also glad to see that. Good use of resources. So you see I’m interested in seeing how Pivot gets along.

Has anyone else used Pivot, or noted the change at the Heartland District site?

  1. Very well re-done. The last site was clunky. This has a much more pleasing eye appeal, plus is easier to navigate.
