My outbound email is still on the fritz (though I found a workaround) but my scanner is up a working. God knows it took long enough to actually use the Christmas gift Hubby gave me: a Epson Perfection 3490 PHOTO. So Linux has problems with peripherals! Nothing’s perfect. I’m still not sure what I did to get it to work.
What this means for you is more resources online. I’ll be testing some OCR software next — Clara, GOCR (with the Kooka frontend), and OCRAD for Linux — and then hope to plan out the texts I want to get online for 2006. I’ll take requests.
