There are days I am convinced Scott Wells is the most common name in the world.
Like Hubby, a journalist, I Google myself occasionally — sometimes complex searches with misspellings — to see if someone has written in a blog or other site something about me or even to me. (Hubby gets picked up by the AP; he looks for how he’s edited or even translated.) Seriously, if you want my opinion, and email works faster than an aside. At least I (“Scott Wells”) hit on the first Google page, as I didn’t used to.
Well, to keep a long story from getting longer I searched for me and “Boys in the Band” — the 1970 film based on the stage play, from which I punningly took this blog name. Egads if I didn’t find The Scott Wells Band, a “roots rock, rockabilly, classic country & blues” in the Virginia exurbs of Washington, D.C.
I love rockabilly. Perhaps it’ll be worth renting a car and gulp driving to Culpepper.
[2009. Ah! They seem to be gone; the Web site is.]
The CSO and I will totally join you if you like.

This has precious little to do with your post, but I couldn’t help thinking of you when I had this stunning realization.
I manage the bands at the Pub in Culpeper and hire the Scott Wells Band. Great music and a great bunch of guys…get that hubby and stay at one of Culpeper or surrounding bed and breakfasts…its fun out here in the country…we don’t bite and not all of us thump bibles.

Hmm, I found the PubBandManger reply kinda amusing – so tell the truth Scott, have you now or ever thumped your Bible?
Not once — even when I was in that jug band.
Will the real Scott Wells please stand up?? Funny stuff, actually do thump the Bible and if you are ever in the Manassas area looking for a place to hang and thump check out http://www.evergreen.org,. As my Uncle says, have a blessed day everyone!
