People in general, Unitarian Universalists included, and bloggers in particular goad one another and others into certain actions. Sort of a continual “do this, it’s a good idea” drive. This makes sense, because very often the appeal includes access to information, which is a way of cultivating wealth and power.
But there aren’t any big projects cultivated that way, ones where the benefit is a substantial public good, or at least projects where UU bloggers are the leads.
Would this kind of join action be desirable, and if it were, what kind of project (a) could we do and (b) ought to do?
How about PD scanning?
Both U and U material?
Someone with a website can do a big dumpsite
and release the material to one of the pd booksites as well….
Large joint projects often require pooling more resources than just labour – for PD scanning, for example, someone needs to do the scanning but also books need to be bought and websites paid for.
Something like http://www.fundable.org/ might allow the project to scale further.
Surprised to see no “big project” other than mine —
nobody wanting to brainstorm???
How about an UU book review – where good books and websites are reccomeded? with good details as to why.
inprint and out
Not that my two ideas are “big projects”, but eliminating world hunger is easier to say than do….
(of course in brainstorming the wildness of the idea doesnt matter – that comes later)
