Tracking UUA growth, easier

One for the UCC, now one for the UUA . . . .

For the last three years, I’ve been using certification numbers to track the growth of UUA member churches. (Thom Belote did more with it this year.) It isn’t easy to hash HTML into a clean spreadsheet, but now there’s no more need. Turns out the Annual Program Fund puts out a congregation roster in the Excel spreadsheet format — OpenOffice.org can open it — that includes reported membership, pledge and giving for 2004 and 2005. It still needs to be tweeked to make data sorts but now you can track districts too.

I’m guessing a 2005 and 2006 (“final”) spreadsheet will come out in the next coupla’ months. Handy.
