Right about now, according to the US Census, the three hundred millionth American is being born. I suppose that’s some kind of milestone in this, the third most-populous country in the United States world. It is not quite double the population in 1950. I suppose we have to think about Baby 300 and his or her 299,999,999 compatriots in making environmental decisions.
