Non-Subscriber tonight on Irish television

Tipped off by the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland website:

For those with access to Irish (RTE) Television reception, please note that there will be a television programme on Sunday 25th February featuring Rev. Chris Hudson, Minister of All Souls’ Church, Belfast. The half-hour programme is entitled “The Preacher” and is scheduled to start at 10.35 pm. It will look at his roots in southern Ireland, his Catholic backgound and his work as a Minister in the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland.

Going to the RTE 1 Television site, I found this for 10:25 pm tonight. (Which is it?)

Spiritual documentary series. The story of Chris Hudson, a free thinker and lifelong opponent of violence who was elected minister to a flock of Ulster Dissenters

Perhaps those outside the Republic will read more later.

Would You Believe? (RTE Television) Note: features last week’s episode

  1. I would not be if All Souls did not exist, its the church my mom joined as a 13 year old, she later of course met my dad at St. Mark’s in Edinburgh. I preached at All Souls two summers ago and I’m glad they have their own minister now. It’s a wonderful church and a block away from Queens University, Ireland’s second largest university (think Yale to Harvard.) I look forward to listening to the program.

  2. I had the pleasure of meeting Chris Hudson this past summer when I was in Belfast. He was a dynamic man whom I liked very much. Having been raised Catholic and now being Protestant, he has a unique perspective on the issues that Ireland has faced over many years. I wish I could see the television program.

    Thanks for the great website!
