Jaume De Marcos (UU Hispano) — whose “mother tongue is Catalan” writes that there is a Catalonian localized version of Linux called CÀTix. I’m glad to see it: given the linguistic and national distinctive character of Catalunya, it seems long overdue in a state that’s so strong for Linux.
It’s based on Debian and seems to be used as a live CD-ROM, meaning you can run it from a CD-ROM without having to install it on your hard drive. I’m downloading it now — it’s going slowly — and hope to share some screenshots this week.
See here and here for past review of Linux distros (versions) from Spain.
Thanks!!
