English Unitarians — especially those from Birmingham — might like to see this quaint yet informative picture memento of Unitarian and kindred churches in the West East Midlands, prepared for the Joseph Priestley death centennial in 1904.
You may download it at Google Books.
Actually that’s been available for a long time here: http://www.hymnsinharmony.freeserve.co.uk/index2.htm
I find it more depressing than anything else. In Birmingham there were six Unitarian churches in 1904. Now there’s just one. Manchester and the North West has weathered the storm much better.
And Birmingham is the West Midlands, the East Midlands is places like Leicester and Nottingham.
