A while back, I mentioned that the tee-tiny Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Beech Lake, Pennsylvania has a website that punches far above its weight, and that it is powered by the free and open-source Drupal content management system. I love Drupal to pieces and UniversalistChurch.net runs on it. But it can do far, far more.
So, dear readers, which Unitarian Universalist churches — if any others — use Drupal? Please say so in the comments.
And while we’re at it, what services (particularly with respect to community building) do you want to see in church websites. That’s where Drupal shines.
I don’t have my church on Drupal yet, but would love to get it there! I’m a recent new user of Drupal and have just climbed most of the way over the steep learning curve and very excited about the possiblities Drupal brings to the game.
Ditto what Lance says. And add to that what Dan Harper suggested a few months ago. Maybe a group of us UU-Drupalites can develop what he called “a subset of Drupal for use by Unitarian Universalist congregations”? I’m not sure how to organize us, but maybe we could set up a Project Management site and have at it — with a goal of having something to demo and share at the next GA?
Now that’s interesting. First thing, do we all have Drupal.org user accounts?
No, but I’ll go get one right now. I’m a UU-Drupal Acolyte. I haven’t gotten much further than (successfully) installing a test version. BTW, that was a piece of cake compared to the GIMP.
Okay, it’s 10 years later, but any sign of a UU Drupal group forming?
No, the love is gone.
