Should I have bought bell-bottoms?

Between rice rationing (purchasing restrictions at one store, really) in California and news of gasoline lines (and more widespread purchasing restrictions) in Britain, plus a flagging economy, well, makes everything seem very 1970s.

Should I swap my computer for a CB radio?  (Solar powered, of course.)

So a question for the assembled wisdom. What 1970s musical standard — any genre — should we impart upon the generation who doesn’t remember it the first time?

  1. The only thing that comes to immediately to mind is the hopeful song, “Tomorrow” from the 1970’s musical, Annie. Maybe it’s dated or too optimistic yet in the setting of the musical, the 1930’s the future must have seemed bleak. I suppose it is religious to offer hope, however tenuous, at times when everything appears to be going wrong.
