Shortcuts for Bible citations

Oh, heavens! Many of you I imagine use TinyURL.com or some other URL redirection service when the Web address you have is too long to fit in a comment box, or to be practical in a blog post.

Oremus, an Anglican worship site, has a great service — let’s call it a cousin to URL redirection — that allows users to drop short Web addresses into a text that points back to their site and pulls up a biblical citation. You have your choice of translations — including a couple of psalter-only translations — whether or not line numbers are includes and other features. The shortened URL always begins bible.oremus.org which gives your readers a clue of what they’re getting.

Plus, bible.oremus.org is just a great service for looking up biblical citations, as for reading in worship.
