On May 22, this blog will have its sixth anniversary, but I’ve been writing relatively little lately. I reflected, “why?” After all, I have resources to share and ideas to be fleshed out.
I supposed I wanted to come up with fully thought-out articles but, not having the time to finish them, I declined to start. But this is a blog — a running web log — not a periodical, and it may already be old-fashioned but there seems to be a difference to me. Indeed, that seems to be the difference between, say a news source that uses blog software and a blog, lest everything published using WordPrss, Blogger or the like be derided as so much rambling. So until I recast it, this is a public notebook, not an anthology of finished products. (Though from time to time I may cap a stream of thought into an article. That’s only right.)
I know what you mean. Some blog posts are articles, some are just diary entries. I use a blog built on my own custom code, and I’ve considered adding a feature where I can let certain articles, articles of a certain completion and magnitude, get a more prominent, full page, viewing. So I’d draw a line between regular stream-of-consciousness journaling, and articles. I don’t know if I’ll get around to actually doing it; but I might,
