A fun midcentury Universalist Church pamphlet

This is a follow up to my blog post about a mid-century Universalist Church logo. I’m guessing it’s from the 1950s, but I don’t have any details about it. Got it years ago, and realized that it would be unfamiliar to many of my readers.

  1. I had never before seen the Kingdom of God rephrased as the “Kingdom of the Good Life”. Not a phrasing I could particularly agree with it (feels like a commercial for a Disney resort). But a very interesting snapshot of a specific community, in a specific place and time. I also find it interesting that a more Humanistic Universalism has its focus on a “Universal Human Brotherhood”. This last piece, is an idea that possibly deserves to be re-examined and re-used in our context of globalization and human civilization.
