Diet help . . . from Google

I feel like Google owns me some times, but that’s OK right now. I’m try to lose weight and my current goal is to drop 16 pounds by the last day of March. Sure, I record my food intake, weight and measurements on a Google Documents spreadsheet. (I have also extended document viewing permissions to Hubby and a friend, knowing that they can review my progress if they want.)

But dang if there isn’t another, perhaps even more useful service from Google. Recipe searches. For instance, I’m trying to make better use of wheat bran so Googled “wheat bran recipes.” Now there’s a special recipe search. Not only can you search by ingredients (or keyword), cuisine and course, but if you click through you may be able to search by calorie count, fat count and serving quantities. For example.

Voila! Wheat bran pancakes fit the bill (of fare).
